L1/L2 settings reference

NDAT provides following general options related to L1/L2 features:

  • Link inconsistency text – text, that used to mark inconsistent (erroneous) links;

  • Clear PP ports data automatically on copy/paste – enables/disables PP ports data auto clearing;

  • Mark links with port color – enables/disables link/linkset auto coloring;

  • «Formulas» with substitutable values that used to generate L2 description (L2 interface description formula and L2 LAG description formula);

Available patch-cord estimation options:

  • Rack depth, m – rack depth in meters;

  • Rack width, m – rack width in meters;

  • Default device rack height, RU – non cross rack default height in units;

  • Default cross rack height, RU – cross rack default height in units;

  • Default device position, units – used if device’s placement is undefined;

  • Default rack patch panel position, RU – used if PP position is not defined in cabling external data;

  • Default cross patch panel position, RU - used if PP position cross rack is not defined in cabling external data;

  • Cable tray on top of racks – sets cables location – under raised floor or in cable trays;

  • Add rack depth to in-rack patch cords – enables/disables rack depth to PC length estimation addition and enables “Rack side checking”;

  • Add rack width to in-rack patch cords - enables/disables rack width to PC length estimation addition;

  • Add rack depth to cross patch cords – enables/disables rack depth to PC length estimation addition and enables “Rack side checking”;

  • Add rack width to cross patch cords – enables/disables cross rack width to cross PC length estimation addition;

  • Single RU height, m – single rack unit height in meters;

  • Default rack distance, m – used if not imported via “Import Rack Distances Matrix”;

  • Default cross patch cord length, m – used if inter cross rack distance not found/defined;

  • Patch cord allowed lengths;

  • Sync rack side to device port side – use Rack side field value to fill L1/L2 nodes Port side field.

L1/L2 reports options:

  • L1/L2 links reports mode:

    • Symmetric – each single link will be included in report twice – in forward and reverse direction; patch-cords will be counted only once.

    • Asymmetric – each link will be included only in one direction.

  • Patch cord length mode in reports and crossing tasks – defines whether to show estimated patch-cord lengths or rounded to allowed lengths.

  • Include patch cord lengths in L1 links report.

  • Include status or marks in L1 links report.

  • Include description, model and info * to L1 links report and crossing task.

  • Include description, model and info * to L2 links report.

  • Include patch cord lengths in crossing task.

  • Device info {1|2|3} caption – Devices report columns captions where values from Info {1|2|3} reported.

  • L2 node info {1|2|3} caption – L1 links report, L2 links report, L2 nodes report columns captions where values from Info {1|2|3} reported.

Synchronization options from Racks* pages to L2* pages:

  • Sync Device info {1|2|3} from L1 template – enable/disable sync from L1 template’s Info {1|2|3} fields to corresponding Device’s Info {1|2|3} fields.

  • Sync L2 node info {1|2|3} from Device info {1|2|3} – enable/disable sync from Device’s Info {1|2|3} fields to corresponding L2 node’s Info {1|2|3} fields.

  • Sync L2 node mgmt IP from device mgmt IP – enable/disable Mgmt IP address, Mgmt interface name, Allow mgmt IP auto update from Devices to corresponding L2 nodes.
